Film critic for the Guardian, Catherine Shoard, kicked off proceedings by introducing a distinguished line-up of transatlantic guest speakers, including UK casting director Jeremy Zimmerman (Hellboy, The Scorpion King) and author/casting director Nancy Bishop (Secrets from the Casting Couch), from the US.
